Having just completed our fourth film season, we screen cult, arthouse, indie, local and classic films and documentaries - a little bit of something for all discerning tastes!
We're not just about screening the most stellar cult classic films we can find though - there's so much more to add to the mix! Think street food, think music, think pop-up bar, think old-skool candy, think Saturday nights are sorted!
We're a licensed +18 venue screening cult status films for mature audiences, so find yourself a babysitter, get your crew together, or organise that date night you've been talking about for ages, and have yourself a great night out!
Events open at 5:30pm with alfresco food and music. Film screens/doors close inside the Village Cinema at 7:30pm.
Stay tuned for details regarding our upcoming Season Five 2019/2020, scheduled for Summer/Autumn at The Village Cinema, The Historic Village, 17th Avenue, Tauranga.
Are you an independent film maker with a short film you've directed between 3 - 10 minutes long, just waiting to be unleashed upon a receptive cinematic audience?! Great, we'd love to hear from you! Supporting creative film making talent is a big deal to us, and we're always on the look out for independent short films to screen before our feature films at all our events. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I get sent a paper ticket once I've purchased a ticket online?
When you purchase your ticket online, you will receive an email confirmation from both Cult Cinema Club and Pay Pal, informing you that your purchase has been approved. Your name and ticket number are added to our list of ticket holders which we reference on the night of the film. We like to try and save one tree at a time, so we've eliminated the need for paper tickets - just come along and tell us your name and ticket number when the cinema doors open. Too easy!
Do I have to be a Cult Cinema Club member to come along to these events?
Whilst we do encourage people to become a member of Cult Cinema Club, so they can enjoy all the perks and discounts of joining the Club, you certainly don't need to be a member to enjoy our events and are most welcome to join us for a great night out!
Are there any age restrictions for who can attend your events?
As we are an +18 licensed event, our cult film nights predominantly cater to a mature audience. When, on the occasion we screen G. PGR. RP13. rated films, minors are welcome to attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Will you still have alfresco dining if it rains?
If rain is predicted on the day of the scheduled event, alternative arrangements will be made regarding our pre-film entertainment. Dining and music will be hosted inside the cinema before the film with the foodtruck for the evening positioned directly outside the cinema for our patrons convenience. This set-up works a treat and means we are all systems go come rain or shine!
